The Calcutta Cup is the trophy awarded to the winner of the annual rugby union match between Scotland and England, making it one of the oldest international sporting fixtures. It was created in 1878 from melted-down silver rupees by the Calcutta Football Club and represents one of the most fierce and historic rivalries in rugby union.
