Scotland has competed in every Rugby World Cup since the tournament's inception in 1987, reaching the quarter-finals five times but never advancing beyond that stage. Their best performances came in 1991 when they reached the quarter-finals as Pool winners. Scotland qualified for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France but were eliminated in the pool stages.
