Scotland won Six Nations championships in the 1980s (three titles: 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987) and 1990s (one title: 1999), with their most recent Grand Slam victory in 1990. They have not won the championship since 1999. Scotland has finished second or third in most decades since then, competing in the annual Six Nations tournament alongside England, Wales, France, and Italy.
