Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors have both competed in European competitions since the professional era, with Glasgow winning the Pro12/URC title in 2015 and reaching multiple European Cup knockouts, while Edinburgh has qualified for European tournaments annually but hasn't won major European silverware. Both teams have represented Scottish rugby in the Heineken Cup, Challenge Cup, and current URC format.
