Edinburgh Rugby has competed in European competitions since the professional era began in 1995, reaching the Heineken Cup quarter-finals multiple times and winning the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2004. The club has struggled to match the European success of rivals like Glasgow Warriors and has never won a major European trophy, though they remain regular participants in the European Rugby Challenge Cup and United Rugby Championship.
