Scotland has competed in every Rugby World Cup since 1987, reaching the quarter-finals on five occasions (1991, 1995, 2003, 2011, 2019) but has never progressed beyond that stage. The team's best performance came in 1991 when they finished fourth overall. Scotland qualified for the 2023 World Cup but exited in the pool stage.
