Scotland rugby has historically struggled to fill the loosehead prop and tighthead prop positions consistently, as well as finding reliable depth at hooker and in the back row. The centres have also been an area of concern, with injuries and inconsistent form creating selection challenges. Injuries to key players in the second row have frequently left the team short of established lineout options.
