Scotland has appeared in every Rugby World Cup since 1987, reaching the quarter-finals multiple times but never advancing beyond that stage. The team's best performances came in 1991 when they reached the quarter-finals, and they have consistently qualified for tournaments throughout the competition's history. Scotland won the Five Nations Championship multiple times during this period but has yet to win the Rugby World Cup.
